Emily Stern, LMHC, EMDR, PhD-C
Life changes fast, and sometimes it leaves you feeling like you are just trying to catch up. If you are navigating a major loss, adjusting to a new phase of life, or just feeling stuck and uncertain about what comes next, you do not have to face it alone. I provide a direct, supportive space where you can stop performing and start focusing on your own path forward. I believe therapy is a collaborative partnership, not a lecture. Your voice leads the way, and my job is to provide the clinical tools to help you find your footing.
I specialize in a humanistic approach combined with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is a powerful tool we use to process difficult memories or traumas so they stop holding you back from your current life. We focus on building resilience by defining your specific goals and finding practical ways to bounce back from life’s stressors. We do not use a one size fits all checklist. Instead, we tailor our sessions to help you uncover what healing looks like for you, ensuring you leave each session feeling more grounded and purposeful.
My expertise includes navigating Grief, Anxiety, and the specific challenges of Psychosocial Cancer Care. Whether you are dealing with a personal diagnosis, supporting a loved one, or trying to manage the anxiety of the unknown, I invite you to bring your full self to our sessions. I specialize in working with late adolescents and adults who are carrying a heavy heart or seeking clarity in a world that feels unpredictable. Let us work together to create meaningful change so you can move beyond just surviving and start building a life that feels authentic to you.
*Insurance & Fees* I am in-network with Aetna and Quest Behavioral Health. For all other major insurance companies, I am an out of network provider. My office provides a superbill for you to submit for reimbursement and we will assist you in verifying your benefits to make the process as seamless as possible. I also offer a sliding scale rate for those in need. Please reach out to learn more about how we can start this work together.
