I’m a licensed psychotherapist and consultant specializing in individual and couples therapy. My work focuses on helping people heal from trauma, childhood wounding, attachment injuries, and relational challenges. I believe therapy should be a safe, inclusive, and affirming space—one where every part of you is welcome. In our work together, we’ll gently explore the parts of you that feel difficult to access or understand. Over time, we’ll uncover the internal patterns and protective walls that may have once helped you survive—but are now holding you back from connection, growth, and ease. Many of the individuals I work with are navigating the ongoing effects of painful life experiences, or are beginning to notice how their resistance to vulnerability might be limiting deeper relationships. My goal is to help you feel supported in doing this brave work. Therapy can be challenging, but I strive to make it less overwhelming, more grounded, and deeply human. I draw from a blend of evidence-based, trauma-informed therapies to support healing and long-term change. These include: Internal Family Systems (IFS) – to help you connect with and care for your inner parts Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) – a research-supported method for processing trauma and distressing life experiences Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) – to strengthen emotional bonds and resolve conflict in couples I tailor our work to your unique needs—whether you're seeking to recover from trauma, build more fulfilling relationships, or simply get to know yourself on a deeper level. If you’re ready to begin—or even just curious—I’d be honored to walk alongside you in this process. Call (408) 800-7305 to get started!

Hey- I'm glad you're here. Can I just name that looking for the right therapist for yourself can sometimes be a tad overwhelming? Give yourself some props for working through these profiles-- some of my clients have described it like 'dating' because it can take a while to find someone who you really vibe with- so I'll cut to the chase of who I am, what I do, and what you can expect from sessions with me! I'm a relational and person-centered therapist, meaning, I'm attuned to your needs and goals, act like a dynamic and engaged human in session, and really strongly believe you deserve a space where you can show up fully. I also prioritize the things you need in session to feel comfortable- if that's sitting on the floor, then I'll meet you there! If you need to fidget- I've got some for you. If you want to be burrito-wrapped up under a fuzzy blanket, that's just fine too! Ultimately, I want you to feel like you're getting something out of your time in therapy and we'll work together to create a space that allows for that. A lot of the students I work with are thoughtful, inquisitive, and just carrying a lot more than most people realize. They might look like they’re keeping up just fine, but inside they’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or questioning where life is headed. Some are navigating grief or the fallout of a breakup, others are dealing with anxiety, burnout, major academic stress, or trying to figure out who they are, where they're headed, and what matters to them. If that sounds familiar, you’re definitely not alone. In therapy with me, I aim for us to create a space where you can be completely yourself without having to downplay your struggles. I bring warmth, curiosity, and care, and some helpful perspectives and ways of coping that are 100% tailored to you and what you need. You show up, and we’ll take things step-by-step and explore what’s weighing on you and what may help you get through it, together. If anything here resonated with you- I welcome you to reach out and set up a 20 minute free phone call with me and we'll go from there! Best of luck finding the care you're seeking!

Clinical Social Work/Therapist
Denver, CO

My name is Blanca Martinez Walter and I am a licensed Latina holistic and spiritual therapist, living in Denver, Colorado. I am licensed in both the state of California and Colorado. The fancy title I have earned is Licensed Clinical Social Worker, but I prefer the other title (spiritual therapist). I blend my experience working with Latinx in psychotherapy with my deep interest in spirituality and the mind, body, and soul connection. My therapeutic approach is holistic, incorporating intuition, signs that universe sends you, body awareness, inner child work, and a comprehensive understanding of your past and present experiences to understand how you came to be. In my practice I work with first generation latinas/latinos seeking change, wanting to get more attuned to their intuition, open to looking at past patterns and being challenged, all the while doing so with a therapist that has a cultural background similar to theirs. Common issues addressed in my practice include the effects of childhood parentification, perfectionism, self-care issues, life transitions, grief, relationship challenges, and other issues unique to the first-generation experience. As your therapist, I will be your cheerleader and I will also be that person that challenges you and disagrees with you, because without discomfort there is no growth. I balance both humor, gentleness and disagreement in my therapeutic sessions. And yes, I speak Spanglish. I offer a free 15 min consultation to determine what your needs are going to be, what you are looking for in treatment and with that determine whether we would be a good match. I can offer a special rate for college students of $90 for 45 minutes. *If you are dealing with suicidal thoughts, it may be determined that telehealth is not the option.

Sometimes you feel out of place, like you can't connect to other people. Your life might appear "normal" but you can't seem to enjoy it. You may feel alone, like nobody else understands, and might wish you could be more present for your kids/work/partner/family. While you have experienced trauma, pain, loss, hardship, or addiction, you are ready to take hold of your future. If you are looking to break free of a painful past that has you chained in your present, you have found the right place. Thrive clients are women who have struggled, felt alone, and are exhausted. They are people who want support in moving forward. I am genuine, honest, upfront and interactive, and emphasize the importance of our connection for your healing. I treat trauma through the lens of mind/body connection. I primarily use EMDR, which bridges the trauma stored in your body/mind/spirit to allow healing, CBT, which helps you identify and replace unhealthy thoughts, and DBT to teach coping skills. There will be no stuffy office space, writing notes under the gaze of judging eyes, or a long couch...promise! I'll be the supportive ear that puts your butt in gear! You will laugh, cry and heal. You can book your free 10-minute phone consult or first session here (or call or email): https://thriveforlife.clientsecure.me *$165/session via telehealth*

Looking for a therapist can feel frightening and overwhelming. This is especially true if you are one of those individuals who have it all put together, yet often worry about what others may think. Do you struggle with feelings of loneliness, fear, guilt, shame, anger, difficulties trusting others and difficulties feeling joy. Therapy is a transformational process and I certainly understand being anxious or even fearful of change. Through my personal experience in psychotherapy and work with clients, I have witnessed the healing and change the therapeutic process offers. My approach is warm and welcoming. I strive to establish a peaceful and safe environment. I truly believe beauty and healing are often a result of allowing light shine to our darkest places. I am passionate about helping individuals, teens, and families work through challenging parts of life. I have specialties working with the LGBTQ+ population and young adults working through difficult experiences and life transitions. I additionally use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) in my practice to assist in trauma processing. I believe strongly in finding a good "fit" in a therapist that best suites the individuals needs to have the best outcomes possible. If you choose to come to therapy, I can help explore and process your feelings openly in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. Although it may be difficult to do, I strongly believe that openly talking about positive and negative life experiences is the key to positive growth and change. In doing so, you will gain greater awareness and understanding about yourself. I have helped many people understand how their repetitive patterns and routines can make them feel stagnant. Which as a result, keeps them from moving forward in life. I will give you the skills and tools to utilize to successfully managing potential issues that may arise in the future. I look forward to speaking with you and beginning the road to positive growth and change.
