My journey in this field includes invaluable experience gained at the UCI Child Development School, where I taught social skills and emotional regulation through the UCI Department of Pediatrics. My passion lies in supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate through challenges such as depression, anxiety, and life changes. I bring a diverse set of skills to the table, incorporating proven methods like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help my clients achieve their goals. As a child at heart, I love delving into the emotions that define us. Outside of work, you'll catch me engaging in sports activities and playing video games, elements I seamlessly integrate into the therapeutic environment. I'm a family guy through and through, finding immense joy in exploring the world with my wife and son. On a lighter note, I'm a dog lover and proud owner of two adorable canines, Chewie and Charlie. I founded the Gay Therapy Center in 2015 because I believe in the healing power of LGBTQ people working with LGBTQ therapists. It's very important in therapy to know for sure that your therapist really "gets" you. We've now grown to become the largest private LGBTQ therapy provider in the country with 27 therapists in CA and NY. We personally match you to the therapist we think will be particularly good for you-we don't believe in using algorithms to make matches! We also believe that experience counts for great therapy. That's why our therapists have an average of 10 years of experience. Our clients tell us that we don’t just sit and listen (although we do that very well), but that we also have something to say. We are interactive therapists who offer feedback & are trained in evidence-based methods of therapy for that are known to work. Our therapists are highly experienced, with an average of 10 years working in the field of psychotherapy. Whether you’re struggling with self-worth, anxiety, depression, isolation, or intimacy issues, we’re here to help you live the life you want. We also offer relationship counseling to help you & your partner grow stronger, rekindle the love between you, or work through relationship struggles. Visit us online at www.thegaytherapycenter.com.

As a mental health clinician, I find a great joy in working with young individuals in their early 20's and 30's who may struggle with depression, anxiety, and trauma. Through active listening and communication, client's have found therapy to be a place to "think out loud" and allow themselves to feel or experience emotions that would otherwise be ignored and forgotten. Therapy is a place to being authentic, to grow in self awareness, and to be empowered by one's successes and shortcomings. I am passionate about supporting the Asian American community. As an Asian American therapist, I want to support Asian American individuals who may struggle with cultural identities, family relational issues and addressing culture specific topics that impact one's social and emotional wellness.
Based in the SF Bay Area, I offer trauma-informed psychological treatment for post-traumatic stress, addiction, grief, anxiety, depression, and related life challenges, as well as support for positive growth and insight building. I primarily utilize a combination of EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and IFS (internal family systems) therapies to provide a somatic and source-focused approach to healing. I educate my clients on the universality of traumatic and addictive experiences. I define trauma broadly as any past experience that remains charged and disturbing, and thus has value in alleviating mental health challenges in the present. It's helpful to understand how traumatic and addictive elements exists in all of us and are not static, but rather ebb and flow as reverberations of past experiences (and those of our family of origin). l frame the looping amplification of addiction as stemming from a healthy evolutionary need to feel safe and easeful, but in a way that can become self-destructive through the distortion of trauma that resides in our nervous systems, until processed.
Many people say that the college years are supposed to be some of the best in your life, yet it doesn't feel this way to you. Somehow you are missing out. Perhaps anxiety has you second guessing everything or your perfectionism or "OCD" has gotten out of hand. Perhaps you doubt yourself, put yourself down, or get the sense that everyone else has it all figured out except for you. Life doesn't have to be this way. I get it. I used to be a college professor and worked a lot with students transitioning to college and "adult life." I also know how hard things are when you are juggling college demands with the rest of "life," which may include a medical, family/friend, or work issue or just figuring out what you want to do with your life. Reaching out to ask for help is sign that you are aware something's not quite right in your life and you hope things can be better. Our time together is focused on helping you achieve your specific goals using treatments that are evidence-based. This means I only use the treatments that we know from research are helpful. I won't waste your time or money with treatments we know don't work. With any patient I work with, my goal is to eventually put myself out of a job. Sounds like a crazy business model, right? That is because my focus is on YOU and what you need. I want you to learn the skills that you need so you can graduate from therapy and live your best life.
