I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with seven years of experience, dedicated to helping you reclaim your life when you're feeling stuck and unhappy. At all times, I believe in openness and showing up authentically with you in the room, and look forward to learning more about you as we work together. Holistic, tailored, and integrative is how I show up for you in our work, as I'm passionate about helping you reclaim your joy and zest for life. Together, we'll create a non-judgmental, authentic space where you feel free to be yourself. I use Mindfulness within this approach to help you rediscover who you are and what you want in life, with a direct and compassionate style tailored to your unique needs. My path to becoming a therapist began with a psychology course that piqued my interest in understanding people on a deeper level. That experience deepened my commitment to providing you with an authentic space to feel comfortable and heard. I love to travel, paint, and spend time exploring nature. Some of my favorite moments are spent with family and friends.
My practice begins with a kind, compassionate and safe introduction to the therapy process. We will explore what you want in your life and how to get there. Together we will follow your questions, concerns and goals, so you can discover new options. These are some of the questions we can explore. How can I make decisions that lead to a clear purpose? Why do I feel depressed? What is all this anxiety about? What can I do to feel better now? Drawing on eastern and western psychology, we will work together to develop the tools and inner resources to achieve your life goals including learning self compassion, and developing awareness of your thoughts, feelings and behaviors - through traditional talk therapy, mindfulness, creating art, and journaling. Please see my psychology today profile for more information and a complete list of insurance I accept.
Hi there! I’m Erin Hernandez and I am a licensed psychotherapist (LPC). I believe that our bodies are a vehicle for our spirit. It is our human right to feel safe, loved and seen as who we really are. When we feel these three things we are able to fully inhabit our vehicle (our body) and use it for transformation. I am not currently accepting insurance. Please check here or my website for session rates. I offer free 15 minute phone or zoom consultations and you can schedule that through my website. When scheduling your consultation, please email or text me if you prefer your consultation to happen over zoom.

I have significant experience working with clients all over the world. I have worked with orphans in Mexico that were survivors of significant trauma and abuse and in Colombia with a group of displaced women, survivors of war. My therapeutic focus centers on the integration of the body and the mind in order to help my clients flourish. I am passionate about offering clients the opportunity to strengthen the gifts they have, and thrive. I work with college students from diverse backgrounds - those striving to bring their lives and their dreams together -- to help them achieve happy and healthy relationships. In addition to having extensive training in body psychotherapy, I have also trained in women's issues, EMDR, and domestic violence. I specialize in treating trauma and also anxiety, and obsessive compulsive disorder. I currently offer my services in both Spanish and English at my private practice.
My grounded presence, genuine care, and insightfulness help you feel heard and held in your journey of healing and growth. With my support, you will learn how to relate to familiar struggles in new ways and make changes to move toward a more satisfying and meaningful life. My skillful and compassionate approach allows you to feel challenged and cared for.
Sometimes words don't cut it. Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or seeking a safe space to explore your inner world? Art therapy uses tools that take traditional talk therapy to the next level by giving you an embodied experience. The heart of my practice is believing people are their own experts. You are the ONLY you with your exact values, experiences, routines, heartaches, and desires. I want you to feel seen, foster a deeper understanding of your journey, and find answers and solace through your own innate intuition. If you're new to art therapy you may not be aware of how creativity can open new doors of understanding and connection. Sometimes we get stuck on a judgmental message from 1st grade that we aren’t “good” at artmaking. Well, I say forget that! You ARE inherently creative and it’s okay to heal using both the logical AND intuitive sides of your brain. You get to lead at your comfort level and I will authentically support you using tools and techniques (whether open-ended or more structured) to guide you. If you are seeking space to work through an issue you're having, improve self-esteem, cope with anxiety or depression, manage stress, deal with relationship or parenting issues, process trauma, or just vent, consider reaching out to me.
Are you struggling emotionally, socially or academically? Are you motivated to improve your life? Are you interested in cutting-edge technique? Are you wanting someone who is relatable and gets the challenges that young people face? Are you wanting to sort out what is really happening for you and feel empowered to do something about it? If so, contact me, Ryan Dawson, for a complimentary consult.
As a practicing psychologist for over 30 years (and a short time before that as an attorney), I understand the importance of having someone to speak with about our worries, questions, changes and even our daily lives. I see adults and adolescents who seek support in navigating stressful situations and not only reaching resolution on that issue, but also learning about themselves in deeper ways. I listen closely and with an open mind. I'm supportive and encouraging and help you make connections to patterns that can rework things you would like to change and do differently. Whether we are working on immediate problem resolution or exploring family/social dynamics, it's important that you feel understood, heard and supported in session. It's also important that you have direct, clear feedback that is experienced as helpful and insightful. Not every session is likely to be groundbreaking, but together, we can work toward defining and reaching your therapeutic goals.
Do you find yourself at a crossroads or yearning for more? You may be at a breaking point or you may want to make some changes and you don't know where to start. I will ensure a safe and warm environment for exploration. We will move at a pace comfortable for you. Taking the leap of faith into therapy takes courage. We will engage in a process of empowerment to help you feel more centered & grounded in yourself. I work with individuals, couples, children, & families. I am here to listen, empathize & deepen your self-understanding . We will take a look at your inner longings and the parts of your life which may not be serving you. Every individual is unique, with different needs and preferences. I honor this in my therapeutic approach. I incorporate a number of different modalities in my work. I am client centered and pull from attachment theory, psychodynamic theory, EFT, mindfulness, CBT and somatic approaches. I use play therapy, art therapy & eco therapy with children and teens. Choosing to engage in therapy is vulnerable and challenging. You are choosing to open yourself up, learn new skills, grow and explore the unknown. It is courageous and it's enlivening too. I would love to be part of this journey with you. Please do not hesitate to contact me for more information or to schedule a free 20 minute phone consultation.
