I love working with students and specialize in life transitions and managing anxiety and depression. I also have a great deal of experience in working with individuals who have experienced trauma and am trained in EMDR. I have daytime and limited evening appointments available and am located within walking distance to the Bethesda metro. I also offer online/skype sessions through a secure platform.
I value collaboration, trust, and mutual respect in the therapeutic relationship. Rather than positioning myself as the expert on your life, I help you engage your strengths and inner wisdom in the healing process. I take a holistic approach to wellness, honoring the mind, body, and spirit, while acknowledging the impact of societal and systemic forces on mental health. I create an affirming, intentional, and safe space for you to explore how your identities, values, past experiences, and fears shape your challenges. My practice integrates cognitive-behavioral theory (CBT), mindfulness, and mind-body practices, fostering deeper awareness of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Rooted in a humanistic approach, I deeply believe in your wholeness and potential and help you reconnect with personal strength and clarity.
I offer traditional psychotherapy sessions, but I also work on stress management, mindfulness, emotional expression, relationship issues, depression, recovery and other issues.

Specializing in supporting the LGBTQ+ community, individuals living with HIV, and their allies, our mission is to bring you world-class psychotherapy that's not just compassionate but deeply tailored to your unique journey. Because everyone deserves a space where they're not just heard, but truly understood. I completed my Master's in Social Work from Columbia University, New York, in 2010. During my tenure in New York, I furthered my training with the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, emphasizing care for LGBTQ+ outpatient adults. Over the past twelve years, I've had the honor of working with a myriad of individuals and couples representing all gender expressions, sexual orientations, and diverse relationship configurations, including polyamory, consensual non-monogamy, kink, and BDSM. Before establishing my private practice, I dedicated four years as the Director of Behavioral Health, specializing in mental health care for those living with HIV/AIDS. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist, with over a decade of specialized clinical experience. As a queer-identified, trauma-informed, and sex-positive professional, my expertise lies in supporting individuals living with HIV, addressing substance use disorders, and working with a broad spectrum of relationship dynamics. I also offer dedicated services in sex therapy, as well as therapeutic interventions for trauma, anxiety, mood, and adjustment disorders. My therapeutic methodology is eclectic, integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Relational Therapy, and more. At the heart of my practice is the conviction that everyone has the right to lead an open, secure, and fulfilling life. Establishing wholesome relationships with oneself and with others is instrumental in embracing our most genuine selves.

I often find that when one hits a crossroad in their life, it can sometimes bring stress, but also has the capacity to create growth and resilience. I take a warm, engaging, and persistent approach with clients as we explore how to make sense of the thoughts, feelings and behaviors that may be undermining your happiness and productivity. I have had the privilege of helping individuals make meaningful change in their lives for over a decade. My approach is highly collaborative, and individualized to the needs of my client. I enjoy working with individuals of all backgrounds, and have extensive experience working with international populations. Being a student in higher education can come with its own unique set of challenges, and opportunities for growth. Counseling students at Johns Hopkins University for over the better part of a decade has given me a unique view into ways to help students negotiate difficulties and be successful at school. Here are some of the areas for which students often seek my assistance: -Procrastination/time management -Study skill strategies/building an optimal study schedule -Imposter syndrome -Bullying/harassment/discrimination -Challenges with peers and/or faculty -Adjusting to living away from home or in a new area -Managing changes at school due to Covid-19 -Leaving or returning to school because of medical or mental health concerns
