As a licensed psychologist, I specialize in working with individuals facing academic, social, emotional, and developmental challenges. I offer therapy services for young people whose emotional or identity-related concerns (such as anxiety, depression, or low self-esteem) interfere with learning, peer relationships, or school engagement. Additionally, I provide targeted executive functioning support focused on planning, prioritization, organization, time management, and task initiation.
People have the capacity for incredible growth and positive change when they create genuine connections that allow them to feel seen and heard. If you are stuck in unhelpful patterns, or feel that you lack the tools and skills to make the changes you want in life, I am here to help. My clients struggle with family issues, existential concerns, self-injurious behaviors, suicidal ideation, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. My approach is person-centered and relational, and I also pull from modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. I am affirming to marginalized identities, and have additional training on transgender youth and health. Sessions with me feel supportive and compassionate, but I will also challenge you to identify and outgrow thoughts and behaviors that are no longer serving you. Let’s figure this out together.

My passion is to share Integrative, Experiential, and Mindfulness-based methodologies. I aim to help individuals with understanding and interrupting unhelpful patterns. Helping student-athletes achieve more with goal-based therapy. Our team is flexible, ever-changing, and meets each client where they are, and helps them get to where they need to be. We specifically help athletes think outside the box based on their circumstances, experiences, strengths, and goals. We support athletes with various challenges such as managing depression, reducing anxiety, treating an eating disorder, overcoming compulsive exercising, recovering from injury, strategies for mental blocks, recovering from burnout, and mental health risks for LGBTQIA+.
I am a licensed mental health counselor with 20 years of experience. I provide counseling to adults and adolescents. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy with a person-centered approach. As a first-generation immigrant and Wellesley College alumna, I am sensitive to cultural and feminist issues. Please contact me to discuss your needs and to determine whether we might be a good fit.
When everything feels like too much, therapy shouldn’t add to the pressure. I'm a liberatory therapist working with kids and adults facing life transitions and overwhelm. I don’t believe in forcing people to fit systems that weren’t built for them. Instead, I center you—your needs, your truth, and your pace. Using humanistic and cognitive approaches, I offer a grounded space where we can explore what’s hard, celebrate your strengths, and move toward a more authentic sense of self. With compassion, humor, and curiosity, we’ll challenge the stories that are holding you back—and build new ones that feel like yours.
My name is Fernanda Alves and I am originally from Brazil, where I received my bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2006. After graduating, I immigrated to the US to pursue my master's degree in mental health, which I completed in 2012. Since then, I have worked as an outpatient therapist for two nonprofit organizations, where I obtained experience working with children, adolescents, and families. At the beginning of 2020, I opened my practice, where I have been working with children, adolescents and adults. As someone who has attended counselling myself for anxiety and ADHD, I noticed that plain “talk therapy” was not the most effective method for so many of us, so with that in mind, I developed a goal-oriented, evidence-based approach with my clients that allows them to develop tools to accept life’s challenges while moving towards their values and goal. Instead of focusing on WHY you can't accomplish something, I will help you focus on HOW by giving you productive solutions and strategies.

I have been a therapist for 20+ years and most of those years have been working with college students on college campuses. Several of those years were spent as an assistant director or director of mental health services at a large university. Maybe you're feeling let down at school, like this isn't how it was supposed to be. Maybe it seems like everyone else has found their friend group but you only feel connected to acquaintances. Maybe you're experiencing anxiety or depression or both. Whether your concerns are related to starting college, graduating, or somewhere in between, let's talk this through together and find your path to feeling your best. No issue is too big or too small. I am licensed in MA and I am a registered telehealth provider in FL, so I can see clients in person in my Natick, MA office or by video anywhere in MA or FL. I see clients aged 16 and up.
