Therapists for college students near Northeastern University
I am an integrative, trauma-focused, queer therapist dedicated to helping people understand themselves better. I particularly enjoy working with clients who want to be in more authentic, connected relationships with partners and family members, want to better understand how trauma has impacted their life and shed patterns that are no longer useful, or want to parent differently than they were parented. My areas of specialized training include interpersonal trauma and PTSD (sexual assault, childhood abuse, domestic violence), attachment and relationships, perinatal mental health, and infant/early childhood mental health. My approach is informed by an anti-oppressive, feminist, and identity-affirming lens. I hold a perspective that our systems and culture impact our sense of self and how we show up in the world. You know yourself best, and I am here to create a nonjudgmental space for you to bring your full self to learn and grow in the ways that are most important to you. I balance processing to better understand a root cause and change patterns with learning new skills. I view therapy as a collaborative partnership, welcoming feedback and showing up with warmth and authenticity, integrating humor and gentle challenging where appropriate. Life's challenges can leave us feeling off-balance. As a therapist, I offer a warm, supportive space where you can slow down, reflect and begin to reconnect with yourself as you navigate anxiety, burnout and life transitions. I work closely with individuals from early to late adulthood. I often work with first-generation high achievers who carry strong internal pressure to succeed, manage high expectations and navigate what it means to be “the first” in their family or community. These experiences can bring pride but also anxiety, perfectionism, burnout and a sense of disconnection or uncertainty about where you’re headed. Many of the clients I work with are navigating anxiety, career uncertainty, relationship challenges or major life transitions, including midlife and aging-related changes such as shifting roles, identity questions and reassessing priorities over time. My approach is collaborative, transparent and grounded in trauma-informed and evidence-based practices. I draw from CBT, mindfulness and insight-oriented frameworks always tailoring therapy to your unique experiences and goals. I aim to help you develop practical strategies while also deepening your self-understanding so that change feels meaningful and sustainable. At Equilibria Counseling, we strive to create a space where you can show up as you are.
Sometimes we find ourselves feeling stuck, unhappy, or confused. We may be aware of a sense of unease, as if something is not quite right. Therapy can provide clarity and tools to help you navigate difficult emotions. It’s important to know that we can learn to think and feel differently. I provide a safe space where clients feel seen, heard, and truly validated. I believe in the gentle balance of being both compassionate and direct to help facilitate growth and healing. Through encouragement, compassion and insight, my goal is to help you develop a deeper sense of joy and greater agency over your life. My background includes helping individuals who find themselves in challenging situations arising from depression, anxiety, relationship issues, life transitions, and addiction. I have formal training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy and am also a Tobacco Treatment Specialist. I incorporate modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and mindfulness into my treatment so that I can help clients make the most of their therapy and reach their full potential.
A client centered approach to therapy starts with ensuring the client and therapist have a strong therapeutic relationship. Not all clients and therapist will be a good match. I work to fully understand my clients lived experience so that I can work with you to achieve your therapeutic goals. I use an eclectic approach to therapy, meaning I may use a variety of evidence based approaches to achieve results.

Hi, I’m Eva, a licensed mental health counselor and owner of Rooted Behavioral Health & Wellness in Massachusetts. I draw from evidence-based therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while also keeping sessions real and engaging—because sometimes a little humor can make hard things feel more manageable. Together, we'll take small steps, challenge old patterns, and move forward in ways that once felt impossible. I believe therapy should feel like a space where you can be real, feel understood, and actually learn tools that make a difference in your everyday life.
Working with young adults and colleges students struggling with anxiety, life transitions, trauma, and relationship challenges is something I've had the privilege to do for more than 15 years. I have expertise working with individuals with anxiety disorders including generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, specific phobias, and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). I received my B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and my Doctorate from Widener University. I have a passion for supporting my clients through challenges and growth in their lives. My approach to therapy is one of collaboration. We will work together to learn how to reduce and manage symptoms in ways that make sense to you given your own unique personal and cultural background. Drawing most heavily from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) our sessions will focus on empirically supported treatments that have been shown to help individuals make tangible and concrete changes in their lives. I utilize a warm, engaging style to help those I work with develop your strengths and gain insight into patterns that are hindering you from achieving your potential in all areas of life. The opportunity to be a part of someone’s journey while they make changes in their life is the ultimate privilege. I invite individuals to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation to make sure that we are a good fit and to answer any questions you have about what to expect in treatment. I look forward to taking steps in our work together.
