Being human can be tough! While experiencing the challenges that life may hold, I believe you deserve to be heard, understood, and accepted. I aim to create a compassionate, non-judgmental space for you to share, explore, heal, and make sense of your story and experiences. As we work together, you may identify aspects of your life that you would like to change or experience differently. We will work together with curiosity to create intentional and meaningful steps towards creating that change in your life. For me, it is a deep honor to be a part of your journey as we navigate life’s challenges. As someone who has been a client, I commend you for the courage and vulnerability it takes to begin looking for a counselor. You have made it this far with the resilience that resides within you, and I believe you deserve the opportunity to experience the benefits that counseling has to offer. As a counselor, I use an integrative approach that is collaborative and relationship-based, values and strengths-focused, and social justice-oriented. My approach is influenced by components of and includes teaching skills from Person-Centered, Acceptance and Commitment, Dialectical Behavioral, and Cognitive Behavioral therapies. Additionally, I practice from a lens that is trauma-informed and acknowledges the influence of systemic marginalization, intersectionality, and social injustices. Topics that I support adults in navigating include but are not limited to adjustment and stress management, LGBTQIA+ identities, identity development, issues related to young adulthood and attending college, career path exploration, interpersonal relationships, anxiety and depression, grief, trauma, shame, and self-compassion. Outside of my work, you might find me enjoying some time outside hiking or walking at the park, hanging out or cooking a meal with my chosen family and friends, playing the Nintendo Switch, laughing at memes or TikToks, or just catching up on tv shows/movies with my partner and our two cats.

Hello, and welcome. I'm Avianna Marcelin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in North Carolina. I earned my Master of Social Work from Winthrop University and take an eclectic approach to therapy, tailoring treatment to meet each client's unique needs and goals. I enjoy working with folks from all walks of life who may experience depression, anxiety, or have a history of trauma. My goal is to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship where you feel supported as you work toward greater well-being and personal growth.
Do you feel like you are strapped on a roller coaster of anxiety and depression and can't get off the ride? We can feel out of control because of life changes, relationships, and significant events. We can become stuck in our own unhealthy thoughts, emotions, actions, and responses. Sometimes we hyper-focus on relationships and fixing other people. Or we may develop unhealthy patterns when using things outside of ourselves to experience immediate relief and help us cope. This may include alcohol, marijuana, pills, food, porn, exercise, gaming, social media, shopping, and gambling. You need somewhere safe to talk about the hard stuff. Every person has difficulties that feel overwhelming at some point in their lives. Being willing to ask for assistance is a courageous gift to yourself. I find it gratifying to help people struggling with anxiety and depression related to challenges in life and relationships. You are worth your own effort in becoming a healthier version of yourself! I look forward to being a part of the journey!
I understand that life's challenges can sometimes feel overwhelming. Whether you're navigating a difficult relationship issue, struggling with stress and anxiety, grief, difficult emotions, experiencing the emotional and physical transitions, or interested in pursuing couples counseling, I am here to meet with you compassion and support. I specialize in providing individual, couples, and family counseling to help you heal, grow, and thrive. Through evidence-based practices like the Gottman Method, Narrative Therapy, Bowen Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, I offer a holistic approach to mental well-being. Let's embark on this journey toward healing together.
You struggle to connect with your authentic self as you navigate life’s transitions and their impact on your identity and relationships. You notice yourself falling into the same patterns that leave you feeling even more disconnected and overwhelmed. Together, we will explore the stories that shape your inner world. I will support you in letting go of expectations that don't align with your values and building confidence in yourself as the author of your own life. When everything starts to feel like too much, I want you to feel grounded in who you are. My name is Sam, and I believe you deserve to be yourself unapologetically. Finding a balance between honoring your needs, reconciling the past, and fostering relationships is challenging, but you don't have to face it alone. Counseling is a vehicle for promoting holistic health, and you get to decide what wellness looks like for you during our time together. I enjoy using a person-centered therapeutic approach that incorporates theories and interventions from Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems. Ultimately, I will meet you where you are on your journey and provide support tailored to your concerns.

Safe. Confident. Peaceful. Free. Empowered. I believe we all strive to feel this, yet at times life gets in the way and we feel stuck, unable to move forward. My goal as a therapist is to create a safe and encouraging environment, while providing you with the tools you need to begin the healing process. I believe in helping my clients find the answers they already have access to. As a therapist, I strive to join with my client to understand their path to success. Ultimately, a major goal is not to tell someone what to do but to help them decide what they want to do and how to get there. I look forward to working with you.

*While I am not in-network with the Dartmouth Student Health Plan, I do bill that plan directly as an out-of-network provider, and students only pay a $30 copay each session.* I have been working with college-age students and young professionals throughout my career, and have previously been employed at both The University of Vermont and Dartmouth College. My goal is to understand my clients' concerns through their lens while reflecting back what seems to be getting in the way of achieving their goals. I am a compassionate provider, who actively engages with my clients making every effort to provide direct and honest feedback. I understand the rigors and challenges of adjusting to college life and the real and perceived pressure that many college students face. I spend time understanding what my clients are hoping to get from therapy, and work hard to help them move from suffering to thriving. As a Mental Health Counselor and Registered Dietitian I consider a client holistically when assessing their needs and focus on the health of the body and the mind.

Creating a therapeutic relationship is vital to fostering a space of mental healing, and I strive to make that with my clients. I strive to hold a safe and authentic space for my clients where they can feel supported. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and I can provide support and encouragement to assist you in meeting your chosen goals and process your experiences without judgment. Hi, I’m Dr. Lauren Chase, founder of Climbing Hills Counseling. I help high-achieving women boost their self-esteem, overcome anxiety and self-doubt, and unlock their full potential. Come sit down on your favorite chair, grab a cup of coffee or tea, and let’s talk about the pressure you’ve been carrying, including the constant juggling of work, parenting, relationships, and everything in between. Balancing multiple roles and responsibilities can be so exhausting! Whether you're joining between meetings or during naptime, we’ll work together to quiet the self-doubt and ease the anxiety. Let’s help you feel more like yourself again. As a fellow beautifully anxious person, I understand what it’s like to live in constant survival mode, always anticipating the next challenge and struggling to enjoy your achievements because it’s hard to feel “good enough.” Let’s work together to quiet that anxiety, stop the people-pleasing, and silence that bully in your head telling you that you’re just not “enough.” You can overcome your challenges and reconnect with your true self. Sometimes, though, we all need a little guidance and a push up the hill to get there. By understanding the “how” and “why” behind our behaviors, we can become brave enough to break free from old patterns and start creating a life that feels more aligned, fulfilling, and authentic. I believe therapy should feel approachable, empowering, and rooted in authenticity. Come as you are, messy, tired, driven, unsure. You don’t need to have it all figured out. Together, we’ll create a space where you’re fully seen and supported while you work toward the goals you’ve carried for too long.
I have specialized in working with college and university undergraduate and graduate students since my graduate training and I have worked in six different college and university counseling centers. I have innate knowledge about the experiences that are relevant to college and undergraduate students and it is my mission to provide support in helping navigate the journey during this integral time of development. I have experience supporting students through general academic stress and concerns as well as compounding stressors relevant to diversity, culture and identity. Finally, I understand the intersection that other factors have during the college and university experience (i.e., family, friend and romantic relationship building and conflict, social injustice, financial stress, career uncertainty, etc.)

At Elevate and Evolve Therapy, I strive to create a virtual therapeutic space where clients feel seen, respected, and understood, and where healing is approached collaboratively without judgment. I understand how experiences such as trauma, chronic stress, neurodivergence, and life transitions can shape the way you see yourself, relate to others, and move through the world. The therapy space with Elevate and Evolve honors your experiences while helping you build a path forward. You don't need to become a different person to feel better.
I enjoy working with young adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have a passion for helping individuals reclaim their lives back from trauma, and I believe trauma therapy is more important now than ever. I believe the mind/body connection is very strong, and is important in mental health. I also work with clients who are experiencing stress, life transitions, and grief. I am an EMDRIA certified Therapist and IFS informed. I also use a lot of CBT, DBT, and mindfulness interventions. I am also very strengths- based. In my sessions, I aspire to offer a safe, supportive, and empowering environment to my clients, so they can be themselves, and work through whatever is keeping them from being their best selves. I operate through a strengths-based approach, and will try to bring laughter and humor into the sessions (when appropriate) as laughter is the best medicine.
