Therapists for college students near Portland, OR
Early adulthood can be a confusing, tumultuous time. You may be forging an identity, dealing with instability in living situations, academics, career, or relationships, and perhaps caught up in the painful effects of complex trauma from childhood and adolescence. Financial and career stress in a confusing economy doesn't help. I resonate most with young adults struggling with family of origin issues, discrimination, and experiences of trauma and loss. These issues and experiences often lead to depression, anxiety, and worries about not being good enough or able to make healthy decisions. I am able to be present when you are hopeless and help you see the good within. My approach flexible and catered to your needs. What brings you to therapy is a focus, but I also acknowledge that the past informs the present. We may take that past on directly or keep it in mind as a minor theme. Insight combined with action are often the keys to change.
Eugene Center for Anxiety and Stress is committed to providing treatments that have been tested and found to be effective, with a particular emphasis on exposure-based principles and antioppressive practices. Therapists use evidence-based approaches to help clients develop tools to manage their symptoms, identify ways that the American context may be impacting clients's experience, and help them develop self-efficacy for managing symptoms after the course of treatment.

Do you feel guilty or second-guess yourself when you try to set boundaries? If life feels overwhelming, stressful, or confusing, you don’t have to face it alone. I offer a supportive, collaborative space where you can explore your story, feel understood, and find clarity. Whether you’re wrestling with anxiety, stress, unresolved trauma, or lingering guilt around setting boundaries—that’s where I come in. If you grew up with emotionally immature parents or without strong emotional modeling, those early patterns may still be shaping your relationships and self-esteem today. Together, we’ll work through these experiences so you can make clearer choices, strengthen boundaries, and build healthier connections. While we might talk about difficult things, I bring warmth, patience, and humor into our work—because healing does also include kindness and light as well as depth. If this resonates, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation—no pressure, just a chance to see if working together feels like a good fit. Call or Email to get started.

Thanks for visiting my page! In counseling with me you'll find that I have a collaborative approach, starting in the first session as we work together to understand your concerns. I am committed to providing a non-judgmental, supportive, and safe space to help you uncover the things that are getting in the way of your happiness and well-being. My style is a balance of warm, empathic listening and respectful challenging to promote your insight and personal growth. While I will help you understand the nature and origins of your concerns, I will also help you see and use your strengths and talents toward creating the life you want. Multicultural sensitivity is a central, guiding principle in my therapy practice, in the sense that I believe personal growth can best happen when we understand someone within the context of their culture, environment, and across multiple identities including but not limited to ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender and spirituality. I look forward to hearing from you!
Do you worry constantly, have a persistent fear of failure or judgement and feel on edge with just about anything? Feeling like you’re not good enough, not living the life you want to live, or that you’ve lost touch with the things that bring you happiness with little hope that you can live life in a fulfilling way? Have you had a traumatic experience that left you feeling disconnected and having a hard time trusting people, with the need to protect and numb yourself? These things can impact our physical and mental wellbeing, keep us up at night, make us feel disconnected from the people closest to us and reduce our ability to achieve what we want in life. I may be able to help. I have experience guiding people with these concerns to make meaningful changes to increase their satisfaction with life. A sense of safety, confidence, hope, fulfillment and loving connections with your important people is what I work to achieve with you and it can be done. Research shows that 75% of people experience positive results after seeing a therapist. One of the most important predictors of positive outcomes in therapy is the therapeutic alliance, or the partnership between therapist and client. Therapeutic alliance means shared decision-making, mutual respect, non-judgement, empathy and understanding in the therapy room. I focus heavily on these elements so we can work smarter and not harder and to create an alliance that produces the results you want in therapy.
Hi! My name is Elisha and I'm the clinician and owner of E and Bee Somatic Therapy. My ideal client is someone who has experienced trauma, be it one event or layers of trauma occurring since childhood. They have been able to live a meaningful life to the best of their ability, but they might feel held back by feelings of control, hypervigilance, detachment, etc. stemming from the traumatic event(s). Trauma often shows up in our mood, relationships, and physical health so there may be multiple areas that are unsatisfying. My ideal client is ready to work hard to address this!
In-person and video sessions. College life can be difficult at times, even more so lately. You have what it takes to get through it and I am here to help you recognize and develop your strength and capability. You may feel lost, alone, confused, conflicted, indecisive, anxious and that's an okay place to start. I have experience working at colleges and universities both in Portland and New York City. My hourly rates are lower than many since I am not accepting insurance but I can give you a receipt and/or statement that you might use for some reimbursement.
College can feel like a lot to manage at once. Classes, friendships, dating, family expectations, and trying to figure out who you are and what you’re doing with your life. I work with students who are dealing with anxiety, self-doubt, and relationship stress. A lot of the people I see are functioning well on the outside, but internally feel overwhelmed, stuck, or like they’re constantly overthinking everything. Therapy can help you quiet the mental noise, understand your emotions without getting taken over by them, and feel more grounded in your decisions and relationships. You get to slow down, sort through what’s actually going on, and focus on what matters to you. My approach is practical and collaborative. We start with your goals and what’s not working right now, then build clear, research-based strategies to help you feel better. I also pay attention to patterns, like overthinking, people-pleasing, or relationship dynamics that keep repeating, so you can understand them and shift them long-term. You know your life better than anyone. My role is to help you make sense of it and move forward in a way that feels right to you. I provide out of pocket sessions at a reduced rate with limited pro bono sessions available. If you’re curious about working together, you can reach out for a quick consultation and see if it feels like a good fit.
I love working with college students as it is such a formative time as a young adult. College can be challenging as you navigate your way along the path while figuring out your direction in life. I work best with those who are not afraid to do the work that comes along with being in therapy. You get out of it what you put into it, basically. It is important for me that my clients feel comfortable and that they can be themselves around me. I like to check in with my clients on occasion to make sure we are on the right track to achieving your therapy goals. I mostly do talk therapy and have been trained in EMDR, which is a modality that is used to resolve traumatic memories and events.
I work dynamically and intuitively with a focus on mind body awareness. I combine my knowledge from natural medicine, energy healing, authentic relating, social justice work, ecofeminism, conscious philosophy, yoga, meditation, nonviolent communication, to serve in a holistic and transpersonal approach. I believe that we are all whole and complete. I believe learning is remembering. I believe that each person deserves to be seen, heard, held and loved. I have worked intimately with the concepts of being and belonging. I take into account systemic issues and intersectionality with every client I work with. Some of these populations include: LGBTQI+, BIPOC, Buddhist contemplative, kink/sex positive, body positive communities. I have also worked intimately with survivors of domestic abuse, those dealing with codependent tendencies, eating disorders, chronic illness/pain, developmental trauma and grief. Overall, I work best with those who are curious about being more in their bodies and are dedicated to the growth and learning process.
