My practice style is compassionate, patient, and encouraging that enmeshes nutrition science, body acceptance, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) to provide practical strategies for your healing journey. Recovery from chronic dieting, disordered eating, and eating disorders is possible. Find peace with food and begin your journey to better health and well-being today!
I work best with people who are going through change, feeling stuck, or struggling in their relationships and want a space where they can be honest and understood. Many of the people I work with are dealing with stress, anxiety, past hurt, or conflict with partners or family. I also work with people in poly, open, and kink relationships who want a supportive place to talk about communication, boundaries, and connection. My clients are usually people who want to understand themselves better, improve how they relate to others, and live more authentically.
Welcome to Encourage-ment Counseling for Connection, Healing, and Change At Encourage-ment, we help individuals and couples find hope, strength, and clarity through compassionate, expert care. Our practice specializes in three key areas: couples counseling, gambling addiction recovery, and trauma-informed therapy. Life can present challenges that feel isolating and overwhelming. Whether you're struggling in your relationship, battling the cycle of gambling, or working through the impact of trauma, we’re here to walk with you—at your pace, with respect and empathy. **Our Areas of Focus:** * **Couples Counseling** We support couples facing conflict, communication challenges, trust issues, or emotional disconnection. Our work centers on helping partners rebuild connection, improve understanding, and create stronger, healthier relationships. In addition to resolving immediate relational concerns, we help couples navigate the natural seasons of life—including marriage, career changes, aging, and loss. We also provide support for parenting challenges, helping couples stay united as they raise children, balance responsibilities, and manage stress. Whether you're new in your relationship or decades in, our goal is to help you grow together with resilience and compassion. * **Gambling Addiction Recovery** Gambling struggles can feel hidden and difficult to talk about. We provide a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore the emotional roots of gambling, develop healthier coping strategies, and rebuild your sense of control. In our work together, we focus on practical tools such as budgeting, financial planning, and managing urges to gamble. Just as important, we support clients in rebuilding trust with loved ones, repairing the emotional and relational damage often caused by gambling behavior. Healing includes both personal accountability and restoring connection—and we’re here to guide you through every step of that process. **Trauma-Informed Therapy** Trauma affects how we feel, think, and relate to others. We offer gentle, focused support using evidence-based approaches—including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)—to help clients process distressing memories and sensations in a way that promotes rapid, lasting relief. ART uses guided imagery and eye movements to shift how trauma is stored in the brain, helping clients feel calmer, more in control, and better able to move forward. At Encourage-ment, we believe real healing begins when you feel seen, heard, and encouraged. Whether you're navigating relationship difficulties, addiction recovery, or the effects of trauma, we’re here to help you move forward—one step at a time.

I ask that you come prepared to session with ideas of what we should focus on. I respect the time and effort you put nto therapy, and I want it to be used in a way that is valuable to you.If you've gotten this far and think I can help, please feel free to call or email me. Elevthera Wellness was founded in 2018 by Alecia Denillo, LPC, with a simple but powerful intention: to create a therapy space that felt less like a clinical transaction and more like a genuine partnership. Over the years, that vision has grown into a practice of dedicated therapists who share the same core values - warmth, collaboration, authenticity, and a deep respect for each client's unique journey. Whether you're navigating anxiety, rebuilding your sense of self, learning to set boundaries, or simply trying to figure out who you are on the other side of a big life change - you're in the right place.
I provide mental health counseling services for individuals who are looking to gain a deeper understanding of themselves as well as work through any mental health concerns they are experiencing. Are you struggling? Is your mental health struggles getting in the way of your academic performance or social relationships? If so, I would love to help! I have over 19 years experience and 8 of those were at University Counseling Centers. I have worked both at the University of Pittsburgh and West Virginia University. Counseling can be intimidating and I believe that creating a trusting therapeutic relationship is a vital part of making it feel more comfortable. I work hard to collaborate with you- I listen to what is going on and has been getting in the way of being the best version of you. Together we will develop treatment goals to help you get back to a great place. I am passionate about working with people who are struggling with identity concerns, anxiety, depression, parenting concerns, interpersonal/relationship concerns, self-esteem, stress management, substance use concerns or trying to recover from a history of trauma. I utilize an integrative approach through a multicultural lens in my work meeting the client where they are at and learning about their goals, strengths and struggles that they want to overcome. I love to use a strength based approach that is client centered and solution focused. I am passionate about integrating physical exercise and skill building into treatment to help with sustainability of progress. Lastly, from my experience, clients who do the best in treatment are ones who do work outside of our appointments to apply and utilize the skills/resources we are discussing.
Everyone has a unique story. Feeling safe and comfortable in therapy to share your thoughts, feelings, and questions is essential to the therapeutic process. I understand that the decision to choose a therapist can be a daunting task and the first step into treatment requires a lot of courage. For the past 20 years I have specialized in working with people who have been impacted by complex trauma and loss. Anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, distorted self-image, and a sense of disconnect with self, their environment, and others are often the byproducts of trauma that I see my clients experiencing. Within my practice, I focus on creating an environment in which everyone feels safe, accepted, and empowered to explore and express what they want to express and how they feel comfortable expressing it. I am a licensed clinical social worker. I consider myself an eclectic therapist who is client-focused, strength-based, and humanistic. I utilize aspects of Gestalt and Mindfulness in my treatment.

Welcome! I'm Joanna. I work with adolescents (16+) & adults, most frequently young adults. I particularly enjoy working with transitional issues - changes in school, jobs, family, relationships, identity, etc. Often, my clients are dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, and/or interpersonal conflict. I value working with folks with a range of backgrounds, races, faiths, genders, sexualities, and lifestyles. My work sees people through a systems lens, recognizes the oppressive barriers to mental wellness, and encourages reflection on cultural impact. My ideal client is open minded, patient, and motivated for change. I value flexibility in the therapeutic relationship and use a person-centered approach, whether that's structured skill building or an empathetic ear. I work mostly from an ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) framework, but also incorporate elements of CBT, DBT, and interpersonal therapy. I am not a true "blank slate" - healing comes from connections! I'm glad to have you here - it shows you've taken a huge first step towards healing, processing, and growth, and I'm honored to support you. Shoot me a message to get connected (note: telehealth only)! The extras: I am a cancer sun ISFJ, and I enjoy making pottery, reading fiction, going for walks/hikes, and watching reality TV with my dog.
