Therapists for college students near University of Pennsylvania
I’m a licensed psychologist offering therapy for adults, young adults and teens navigating anxiety, OCD, and life transitions. I work with folks in high-pressure environments, students juggling expectations, and those who feel like they’re carrying the world on their shoulders. You don’t have to keep doing it all alone. Let’s find a way forward—together.
Feeling overwhelmed, unmotivated, or lacking focus? Looking for strategies to help get you back on track? Need help recognizing and managing symptoms of anxiety? Tara believes in providing that safe place to explore and learn how to share the emotional, at times painful areas that need healing. Tara understands that it is important to find balance and to do so, treatment of the entire person emotionally, behaviorally, physically and spiritually is addressed to achieve wholeness.
I work well with queer people who are having difficulty navigating their inner and/or outer worlds as well as students who are struggling with keeping it all together. People who are feeling overwhelming sadness and/or stress would also be a good fit.
Are you having trouble at school, home, social settings? I am here to help! My goal is to assist clients with finding coping skills and strategies that they can use to apply outside of session. Together we will find out how to help you succeed in all areas of life by building confidence (you have it in you!) and tackling school!
Do you feel held back by fear and anxiety? Do the "what ifs" or the memories of how things went wrong haunt you to the point of inaction? If so, I can help; I work with young adults to help them overcome their anxiety and past trauma to get unstuck and live their lives to the fullest. I try to balance meeting you where you are, and teaching you skills that will change behavior patterns that are no longer working for you. Therapy should be more than just "venting;" I believe it should be an active process of learning and change. If you want a therapy experience that is structured and goal-oriented, we may be a good fit. I enjoy and welcome working with students of all backgrounds, including the LGTBQIAA community. I would be happy to speak with you to see if we can become partners in your recovery journey!

Whether it be daily life stress, deeper traumas you have endured, or anything in between, my role in this support system is to be here as a resource for you in your therapeutic journey. I look forward to working together to shed light on your strengths, increase self-understanding, and empower you through any hardships. Let's connect!

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who likes to provide a positive and non-judgmental space for clients to express themselves and recognize their own power for change. Through my time in the mental health field, I have learned the importance of meeting a client where they’re at in their treatment process and supporting them in their personal goals. I like providing a relaxed therapeutic environment through therapeutic activities and sometimes even light humor. I typically use a combination of family systems theories and motivational interviewing. Through the use of a systemic approach, it allows me to connect with my clients and understand their family system and communication patterns. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR) to support clients in addressing trauma. Outside my role as a therapist I enjoy spending time with my husband, new daughter and rescue dog, especially taking walks and exploring new places. I also love traveling, challenging myself with Peloton classes and playing volleyball. When it is time to relax, I like watching Netflix, Disney+ and reality shows.
