When we are facing life stressors, we often focus on addressing the immediate symptoms. This can be very adaptive. However, if we only ever focus on the immediate symptoms of our struggles, then we may never recognize or have the possibility of healing the cause of our pain. I believe that therapy provides a powerful space to explore, understand, and ultimately heal the root causes of our struggles. I approach my work with insight from a variety of therapeutic frameworks, including Narrative Therapy, IFS, Solution Focused Therapy, & Attachment Theory. I am also formally trained in EMDR which I can incorporate into therapy. I approach therapy with an anti-oppressive lens to assist clients dealing with the impacts of homophobia, transphobia, racism, ableism, and misogyny and am versed in supporting individuals with a wide range of challenges, including PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, Autism, Bipolar, and chronic pain. I come to my work not merely as an outsider with expertise, but as a neurodivergent and transgender individual myself who has lived experience navigating many of the issues I work to help others heal from. It has been my privilege to help a wide variety of clients, and I look forward to learning how I can help you too!

My clients come to me with a wide variety of concerns related to anxiety, depression, confusion, low self-esteem, life transitions and adjustments, impulsive behaviors (e.g., substance use, binge eating, self-harm), etc. There is no problem too big or too small, and you are brave for considering therapy. No matter what you are searching for, I believe change is possible and therapy can help. I utilize evidence-based interventions to help my clients build a life that they find more sustainable, meaningful, and enjoyable. I am skilled at helping my clients find balance by challenging them to make necessary changes while also working toward accepting the things that are unchangeable, such as our past. You don't have to know if therapy is right for you just yet, it is ok to be uncertain. I meet my clients where ever they are at in life, and I offer warmth, safety, validation, non-judgement, and a little bit of humor. Reach out and let's see if we would make a good team.

Do you feel held back by fear and anxiety? Do the "what ifs" or the memories of how things went wrong haunt you to the point of inaction? If so, I can help; I work with young adults to help them overcome their anxiety and past trauma to get unstuck and live their lives to the fullest. I try to balance meeting you where you are, and teaching you skills that will change behavior patterns that are no longer working for you. Therapy should be more than just "venting;" I believe it should be an active process of learning and change. If you want a therapy experience that is structured and goal-oriented, we may be a good fit. I enjoy and welcome working with students of all backgrounds, including the LGTBQIAA community. I would be happy to speak with you to see if we can become partners in your recovery journey!

You can learn to shift the way you respond to stress & let go of unhelpful patterns. My other areas of expertise: working with young adults facing anxiety, depression, or difficult life transitions, & people facing the challenges of pregnancy and/or new parenthood. After struggling with anxiety or depression for long enough, you may start to feel stuck. Anxiety and depression can make us think and act in ways that ironically leave us feeling even more anxious and depressed, creating a kind of "vicious cycle." Fortunately, advances in evidence-based therapies have given rise to interventions that can reliably interrupt this cycle, so you can stop struggling and start living. I work with my clients using cognitive-behavioral and humanistic approaches, and incorporate mindfulness-based interventions to decrease the impact of challenging thoughts and emotions, while simultaneously increasing engagement with who and what matters most. Your values and goals will guide our work together every step of the way. Choosing a therapist can be difficult - an online profile can only tell you so much. My advice is to speak with a few different therapists first to determine who feels like a good fit for you, and trust your instincts! Contact me for a free 15-20 minute phone consultation.

Therapy can be a place to slow down and make sense of what’s been shaping you - especially when familiar ways of coping no longer feel helpful. People often come to therapy during periods of change, relational stress, or when old patterns start to feel heavy or confusing. You don’t need to have clear answers to begin; therapy offers space to reflect, understand yourself more deeply, and decide how you want to move forward. My approach is grounded in understanding how family dynamics, culture, identity, and broader social systems shape how we see ourselves and relate to others. As a queer Palestinian- American woman, I bring lived experience and clinical training into my work and strive to offer care that is thoughtful, affirming, and nonjudgmental. In therapy, we will move at a pace that feels right for you. Together, we may look back at the experiences and relationships that have shaped you, while also building clarity, self-trust, and support in the present. Sessions can be challenging at times, and I offer a steady, compassionate presence as you work toward lasting change. I invite you to reach out.
