Everyone says you’re “young,” “in your prime,” and living what are supposed to be “the best years of your life”…why doesn’t it feel that way? As you try to juggle school and work and family and relationships, you might constantly worry that you aren’t good enough or aren’t doing this right. You’re lost and burnt out, but also expected to be ‘adulting’...and you’re scared you don’t really know how. If you are struggling with any of these issues, you might be in the right place. My name is Elyse, and I specialize in supporting teens and young adults working through the many transitions of high school, college, and career. My purpose is to create a safe space where clients feel heard, build self-confidence, process their emotions, and work to solve their problems. I work with my clients to figure out the goals and values that are most important to them. Together, we will focus on your strengths and work towards a life where you feel like you are safe, respected, and confident. Making an appointment for therapy can be intimidating, but I am here to help you through the process. I offer a free consultation to discuss your goals, answer your questions, and decide if we are a good fit. If you are interested and ready to make positive changes, please reach out! I am currently serving in-person clients in Austin and virtual clients from anywhere in Texas.

Therapy offers a space to slow down, connect, and be deeply heard and understood. Whether that is for you as an individual or in your relationship. Together, we can uncover patterns and explore meaningful, personalized coping tools to help you unwind and reconnect with yourself and/or your loved one. Maybe you’ve been turning the same thoughts over and over in your mind, searching for clarity, peace, solutions, or certainty—and not quite finding it. Therapy offers a space to talk through your concerns, ruminations, and vulnerable concerns at length, without judgment or interruption. My goal is to develop a deep, holistic understanding of how your experiences connect, so we can identify meaningful patterns and opportunities for growth, insight, and behavioral change. I help internalizers, people pleasers, and anxious individuals & couples—those whose minds are always racing or looping—find a place to let it out, ground themselves, and experience clarity and peace. I especially enjoy working with women, young adults, and those who dedicate themselves to making the world a better place, such as teachers, nurses, nonprofit professionals, and mothers, and I am open to working with any reflective individual or couple.

My ideal client is someone ready to do the work and is willing to challenge themselves as well as enjoy the benefits of the work we'll be doing together. Happiness is not an act of human will, otherwise we'd all choose to be happy. When working with me, we will discover together how we become happy if not by merely willing it to happen. Hopefully you enjoy a relaxed and open atmosphere, speaking with a therapist in a conversational style where you don't need to censor yourself or feel as though you will be coerced to say or do something you don't want to. My treatment methods have ranged from group, individual, and couples' counseling with tools ranging from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy. I like to provide care for the whole person and tailor your treatment to what works best for you. I received my Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from TAMUCC, since then I have worked with many extraordinary people. I have experience with addiction, behavioral modification, resolving issues with anxiety and depression, and anger management.

Hello, I am Dr. Amanda de Armas, a clinical psychologist who provides individual based virtual sessions to young adults. I hold a license in Florida and Texas. I am also PsyPact certified to seeing clients and families across 39 states. I know that taking your new next steps takes some time. It is just as important finding a great college and education as well as managing your physical and mental health. It can also sometimes be challenging to manage the study, work, tests, and life adjustments. I personally have enjoyed my undergraduate and graduate studies throughout the years, but I have also had some challenges and mental burnouts with it too. You aren't alone when making a new life transition, and I am here to support the emotional thoughts, feelings, and even tough decisions you have to make for your future. I help students manage depression, anxiety, anger, adjustments, and life transitions. I also provide therapies that direct towards helping with lack of concentration, time management, performance anxiety, stress, and even learning how to establish healthy assertive communication skills with family, professors, and peers. I want to be a guide during your upcoming years as you are growing and navigating through your own professional and career experiences. I do have other prior experiences working with young adults managing difficult cultural adjustments when living in a new settings. Just know, that I am here for you and want to listen, as well as provide a safe virtual space for you to share the successes and challenges you face. I do provide individual and even family virtual sessions in both English and Spanish languages. I also offer a short free phone or video call consultation in case you are not ready to book with me yet. If you have any other questions or would like to know more about my therapy services, feel free to email, call, or check out my website. You’re the strong one — the responsible one — the one who learned early how to hold it together. You navigate different spaces, code-switching when needed, carrying family expectations while trying to build relationships that feel healthy and secure. You’re self-aware, but old attachment patterns still show up. You’re ready to understand what shaped you and create connection that feels safe, mutual, and authentic. I provide trauma-informed, attachment-focused therapy for Black and Brown Millennials and Gen Z adults and couples. Using EMDR and relational therapy, we process generational and relational wounds so you can shift patterns at their root — not just manage the symptoms. You don’t have to keep carrying everything alone. Many of your patterns were learned for survival — they make sense. Therapy offers space to unlearn what no longer serves you and build something healthier. If you’re ready for intentional, culturally responsive depth work, I invite you to reach out.

Healing begins in a space where you feel heard, respected, and accepted just as you are. As a bilingual (English and Spanish) therapist, I support adults who have experienced hurtful or unhealthy relationships, including emotional or physical abuse, and are navigating the impact these experiences can have on their lives. I understand that culture, family, and personal experiences shape how we view ourselves and our relationships, and I strive to provide care that honors your unique story and values. My goal is to help you reconnect with your strengths, create healthier relationships, and move toward the life you want. My approach is warm, supportive, and empowering, with a focus on helping you recognize your strengths and create meaningful change. I work collaboratively with clients to better understand their experiences, heal from past hurts, and develop tools for building confidence, setting boundaries, and creating healthier patterns in their relationships. Therapy is a process we navigate together, at a pace that feels comfortable and meaningful for you. You don't have to have it all together to start therapy. I'd be honored to support you along your path towards healing!

It cannot be overstated what a big deal it is that you have begun to explore finding support for yourself. This first step is one of the hardest. I’d be honored to be a resource for you during this time, and accompany you as you grow and change. The majority of my clients are high achievers of all stripes, from Ivy League students to folks attending competitive conservatories and art schools. I was a performing artist (actor, singer, musician) for 12 years in New York City before changing careers, and I specialize in working with folks who have creative identities. Many of my clients are LGBTQ+ and/or neurodivergent, and most also find themselves in overfunctioning/underfunctioning dynamics in their relationships. My main therapy modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as somatic mindfulness-based therapy (Hakomi), and experiential therapy (gestalt). Basically this means that, in therapy, I will support you in getting more familiar with your internal system by helping you track what’s happening in your mind, your body, and between you and I (the therapist and the client). I’ll also guide you towards deepening your relationship with the different “parts” of your system, learning their agendas and desires, which sometimes produce inner conflicts and create stuckness. It’s well-known that being mindful of your body and breath is a great way to reduce stress, and using this practice as real situations arise in therapy will give you a practical way to use it in your day-to-day. As you get to know your system better, you will build greater trust within yourself, allowing for stuck parts to shift and for real lasting change to occur. If you’ve been in therapy before and it just felt like venting, IFS will be different. Pro tip: the research suggests that the therapy modality you use is less important than a trusting relationship with your therapist as far as positive therapy outcomes (though I will happily talk IFS theory for days). Do your best to go with your gut feeling about who intuitively feels right when choosing a therapist, even if right now might be the hardest time to do so. If something about my practice resonates, please reach out and schedule a consultation! I look forward to hearing from you soon!

Are you caught in a loop of asking yourself “was there something about me that made them treat me this way?” Or “am I being sensitive, overreacting, is it my fault?”. Sometimes it’s hard to make sense of our experiences in relationships. Therapy can offer a space for clarity, healing, and transformation. Along with learning how to create a felt sense of safety in relationships. In therapy we will learn to honor both the wisdom of your survival strategies and your desire for change. Therapy can be a place to learn to hold discomfort and transform self esteem. Part of my role is help co-regulate, taking discomfort that individually feels overwhelming and holding it together. Submit your request for therapy services here on Thriving Campus or use the link to my website and schedule your Free 15 minutes consultation. I take the insurance providers listed below and my private pay fee is $150 per 50 minute session. Currently I only offer online teletherapy sessions. I look forward to hearing from you!

I do trauma therapy using multiple techniques but emphasizing EMDR, the most powerful and effective treatment for trauma. Life is tough, but it is tougher when you are burdened with emotional triggers from past trauma. I love working with gen Z; you are young and EMDR is remarkably effective in treating trauma symptoms in younger brains. It is a joy to see you freed from the burden of anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and difficulties with emotion regulation. Please check out my website below for further information on EMDR.

Hi! My main goal is always to help my clients to help themselves, so you feel empowered to embrace stress and change as it comes. With experience working in an eating disorder hospital and 7 years working as a therapist in the Athletic Depts at UT Austin and CU Boulder, I've been involved with supporting my clients through the life challenges that high schoolers, young adults, and adults face for my entire professional career. I am EMDR certified and use this to treat trauma, eating disorders, chronic pain, urges in addiction/EDs, and sport performance (both positive reinforcement as well as treating mental blocks). I particularly enjoy teaching tools for navigating anxiety and depressive symptoms, helping to make peace with body image, and supporting mental performance for sport. I also have a passion for supporting perfectionists to expand their view of themselves and learn to release a little of the control that is actually controlling them!
