HI! I'm Kristin and I'm so glad you're here. If you’re reading this, then you’ve already taken the first step on your journey to healing. It takes a lot of courage to reach out and ask for help. Are you tired of being tired? Is stress, anxiety or feeling overwhelmed taking over your daily life? If you answered yes, then you're at the right place :) I have a passion for helping and guiding people as they find their true, authentic selves through doing the hard work. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, and daily stressors life brings. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside clients since 2008, building relationships of acceptance and trust. I work to empower my clients, striving to bring awareness and positivity to their daily lives. Talking with me, I invite you into a non-judgmental and laid-back space where you can be your true self. My counseling style is interactive and warm, keeping it real with humor and truth. I provide psychoeducation, as well as work within the therapeutic approaches of client centered, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapy. I welcome and celebrate all people in all bodies. I am an LGBTQIA+ advocate and ally.

I earned my PsyD (Doctor of Psychology) degree at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology and I have worked in different settings including university/community counseling centers, dual diagnosis treatment centers, and psychiatric hospitals (Austen Riggs Center). I work from a psychoanalytic orientation. This approach emphasizes the importance of both past and present experiences, relationships, emotions, patterns of being, and the unconscious. While it is natural to want to move away from suffering, it is when we give it a voice that healing can begin. Though genetics can play a role in the development of psychiatric problems; symptoms are some of the ways our psyche and body deal with pain that has not been understood, contextualized, and articulated. My goal as a psychoanalytic therapist is to help my patients notice how their symptoms are not accidental experiences to dodge, but rather meaningful communications to explore. Only through this inquiry can patients tap into interpersonal and intrapersonal as well as conscious and unconscious phenomena that have shaped their life and continue to contribute to their suffering.

College can be a stressful, but rewarding experience. Do you sometimes feel like you don't quite fit in? Do you feel emotionally unprepared at times and honestly, a little awkward? You're not alone, and I want to help you through this journey. If you feel anxious, sad, or that you lack confidence in your abilities, allow me the opportunity to help you through these problems in a virtual therapy environment. You can attend therapy right from your dorm room, in between classes, or wherever and whenever you choose. If you are supporting students, you matter too! I would love to work with you to be your best self.

Clinical Social Work/Therapist
Clarksville, TN

Hello! My name is Kate, and I've been a therapist for 15 years, and a virtual therapist for 3 years. I have a Masters in Social Work and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee. I love working with people of all ages, and enjoy addressing a diverse array of issues that impair us from being our best selves. In addition to myself, I work with 4 co-therapists; 3 dogs and a cat! They occassionally make brief appearances during sessions to provide their insight. I generally approach therapy as an equal meeting of you, as the expert on yourself, and me, as someone who can give some qualified insight and ask good questions to guide you to your own answers. I tend to be warm and engaging, and I pull the most from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), although I also use certain tools from other modalities, as well. In our sessions, we will work together to target the areas in which you would like to grow, give you the tools you need in order to produce the desired growth, and tackle sticking points and struggles as you work on applying what we discuss in therapy. I generally will give "homework" between sessions to help you continue to think about and apply what we are working on in your daily life, but it's nothing intense, I promise! Most clients find the "homework" really helpful and even fun, sometimes.

Pre-Licensed Professional
Knoxville, TN

My name is Teresa Arnold, and Mind Matters Behavioral Health is where I pour my passion into providing personalized care. As a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, I draw on many years of experience to walk alongside people through life's challenges. My background in critical care nursing has equipped me to handle even the most complex cases with skill and compassion. Yet my deepest calling comes from my work with vulnerable populations overlooked by the system for far too long. I simply could not turn away. From that moment on, I knew my purpose was to truly see each person in their wholeness, not just treat isolated symptoms. My goal is not merely to prolong life, but to fill each day with meaning, hope and healing. At Mind Matters, we will work hand in hand, heart to heart, to create a treatment plan unique to your needs. Your mind matters. And together, we will find the path to healing.
