Therapists for college students near 77005
Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here. I work best with individuals who are navigating the impact of trauma and who are open to exploring how their past continues to live in their body and shape their present. Together, we’ll gently uncover how your experiences have influenced your nervous system, your emotions, and your inner narrative—so that healing can begin not just in the mind, but in the body as well. My therapeutic approach is rooted in the belief that the body holds deep wisdom. Through Somatic Experiencing, mindfulness, yoga, breathwork, and sound therapy, I support clients in reconnecting with their inner guidance system—the intuition that emerges when we truly listen inward. This work can bring about clarity, regulation, and a felt sense of peace that goes beyond intellectual insight. At its core, my work is relational and intuitive. Healing doesn’t happen in isolation; it happens in connection—with self, with body, and with another safe presence. My role is to walk alongside you with compassion, helping you explore your story and reconnect with your innate capacity for resilience and wholeness. If you’re feeling the pull toward deeper healing—toward safety, embodiment, and self-trust—I invite you to schedule a consultation. You don’t have to do this alone.

Hi there! I'm passionate about helping students who want to work through Complex PSTD or complex trauma, functional depression & anxiety, and self esteem concerns. My goal is to help you get unstuck from a cycle of over functioning, people pleasing, disconnection and overwhelm, to a place of grounding, clarity and connection. I don’t see therapy as a one size fits all approach; I enjoy fostering a space that’s gender affirming and body positive, as well as sex positive and kink friendly/affirming. I also strive to provide a warm, supportive and judgment-free space that is culture affirming and trauma informed, with an understanding that you are the expert on your life. In my opinion, one of the most important factors in getting to a place of grounding and healing, is having a strong connection and fit with your therapist. In our work together, you’ll find that my style is warm, compassionate, and empathetic. From a person-centered approach, I like to pull in from different therapies and tools as needed depending on what is going on for you. I’m not afraid to talk about anything you need to! I approach things from a place of curiosity and non-judgment.
Congratulations on taking this big step in your mental health journey - seeking therapy. Whether you are struggling with sadness, worry, work/school-related stress, substance use issues, relationship difficulties, or emotions resulting from traumatic experience(s), I offer a supportive ear and a nonjudgmental environment in which we can work together to identify and implement strategies to move you toward your goals. I strive to assist clients in fully exploring their emotions in an environment characterized by compassion, acceptance, and safety. I take a holistic view of each person and consider the physical, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual components of well-being. I feel strongly that connection with values facilitates growth and satisfaction. I am particularly interested in partnering with my clients as they seek to better understand and apply their values.
I help teens and adults with anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, and sleep issues break free from self-limiting beliefs and patterns, so they can live with more freedom and purpose. You might look successful on the outside, but inside, you're caught in a push-pull between productivity and paralysis—swinging between overworking and procrastination, unable to truly rest even when you're drained. Maybe stress is showing up in your body—tension, headaches, trouble sleeping. Or perhaps past experiences have left you feeling disconnected from yourself and others, wondering if you’ll ever feel like yourself again. I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) and EMDR to help you quiet self-criticism, process past experiences, and reconnect with yourself. For insomnia, I offer CBT-I. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, perfectionism, trauma, or sleep struggles, therapy gives you the space to step out of survival mode, build new skills, and feel more like yourself again. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can see if we’re the right fit. With telehealth sessions available in 40 states and Washington, DC, and in-person appointments in Dallas, therapy has never been more accessible. Ready to take the next step? Welcome! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and have been in practice for 4 years. I graduated from Saint Edward's University with my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental health Counseling. I work with female clients and specialize in late adolescence and early adulthood. I believe this period in life is a key time of exploration, reflection on the things we learned growing up, and the beginning of uncovering the values we hope will begin to shape our future.
Hello! I'm a First-gen, Spanish-speaking, and culturally responsive counselor. I specialize in working with individuals who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety (constant worry/fear), shame, trauma, or self-doubt. I want to be able to provide a safe space to dive deeper into some of your concerns. I want to work together to set goals and find solutions to the problems you may be facing. You don't have to carry this alone. Together, we will work intentionally to help you navigate important moments in your life. - Maribel
Whether you are struggling with past or recent trauma, anger, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, relationship concerns or marital issues, it is important that you know you do not have to be alone in this journey. You deserve someone who will listen intently, understand fully, and provide an open, supportive, and non-judgmental space to rebuild through. No problem is too great to overcome if you are willing to do the work. Therapy helps you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationships, become free of old patterns, or simply find ways to process pain or memories that have kept you feeling stuck. It is a healing process that allows you to not only start feeling better but gain insight, awareness, and ultimately begin trusting your intuition and experience. Relationships are as capable of hurt and pain as they are for healing. At Clear Direction Psychological Services, you will learn with the support, expertise, knowledge and guidance of your psychologist how to better relate to and understand your experiences, thoughts, feelings, behaviors, relationships, and challenges. You will learn how to regulate the full spectrum of emotions, find balance in your life, and create meaningful, loving and supportive relationships with yourself and others. You will learn how to make healthier and wiser choices and find fulfillment in your day-to-day living. Clear Direction Psychological Services is a small, specialty practice located on Long Island, New York. Dr. Smyth is a dedicated psychologist whose work is much more than "a job." Those who enter are cared for like family; psychotherapy is Dr. Smyth’s passion, craft, and life's work. Dr. Smyth understands no two individuals are the same. She will work with you to understand the root cause of your struggles and address those issues with long-lasting strategies, helping you get closer to the life you have always wanted. Dr. Smyth has the experience to help you achieve your goals, overcome struggles, and learn to live a life in line with your core values. She is an active psychologist whose work is aimed at providing growth, relief, and healing for those that enter her practice. It takes great courage to ask for help, and that is where change begins. You deserve to have a more fulfilling and meaningful life and Dr. Smyth is dedicated to helping you. She looks forward to getting to know you, understanding your unique challenges, and meeting you exactly where you are. Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions you might have, especially if this is your first glance at therapy. There is no such thing as a bad question and no shame in looking for help.
Araceli is trained in both Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) and Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET), evidence-based approaches that help people better understand and work with chronic conditions such as chronic (unexplained) pain, anxiety, migraines, dizziness/vertigo, IBS, tinnitus, fatigue, brain fog and other stress-related symptoms. These therapies help patients relate to symptoms in a new way—by reducing fear, strengthening the mind-body connection, processing difficult emotions, and helping the brain “unlearn” the patterns that keep symptoms stuck. Araceli’s work focuses on supporting individuals living with chronic conditions to feel safer in their bodies, more emotionally connected, and more empowered in their healing.
Full Intentions is a therapy and movement practice that works at the intersection of mental health, identity, and the body. Most of the people who find us are carrying more than they talk about stress, anxiety, trauma, burnout, emotional numbness, impulsive patterns, or the pressure to keep it together for everyone else. We don’t rush your healing or ask you to “just think differently.” We help you slow down, understand what your nervous system is holding, and learn how to move with your emotions instead of against them. We work with trauma, anxiety, depression, identity exploration, relationship patterns, life transitions, self-worth, and nervous system dysregulation. Many of our clients are athletes and high performers who were taught to be strong before they were taught to be supported. No matter where you are starting from, you don’t have to do this alone. We’ll help you reconnect to yourself with intention, presence, and care. Reach out and we’ll match you with a clinician who best fits your needs.

I understand that every single person has been molded and formed by their environments around them. Sometimes, that leads us to being a person that we no longer want to be, which is when therapy can be helpful. In order for effective change to take place, therapy must be a safe and welcoming place in order for you to feel comfortable learning and discovering which route to take in your self-discovery journey. I prefer to be the passenger while you are in the driver’s seat telling me the route you want to take, and me helping you navigate the way to get there. I can’t promise that the journey will always be rainbows and sunshine, there will be tough truths and strategies that seem hard to implement, but the destination will be one that you have longed for and are ready to receive.

I love working with college students seeking clarity, peace, and confidence—whether you're adjusting to campus life, preparing for the future, or feeling emotionally stuck and alone. Originally from Houston, Texas and now based in Atlanta, I’ve been fully licensed since 2018 and practicing since 2012. Whether you're facing college anxiety, academic pressure, or relationship concerns, I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can process emotions and grow at your own pace. Therapy with me is relaxed, empowering, and rooted in real-life support. Healing isn’t instant, but it starts with being open, heard, and supported. Let’s take that first step—together.
